This book is classic whodunit featuring a group of people who don’t know each other attending a weekend getaway at a cozy mountain lodge. The couples that are attending all are hoping to come away with positive experiences and stronger relationships. On the way to the lodge, a brutal snowstorm begins and by the time they arrive, they realize that they are stuck there for good until the weather improves. Eventually the storm gets the best of them and the lodge is at a loss of power. Things can’t get any worse when one of the guests is found dead on Saturday morning. Clues point to the death being an accident………..until another person is found dead hours later.
I waited for a few weeks for this book on the waiting list at our local library. I’m glad it took a while because I got the read the book when it was cold outside at night in the dark, which helped with the best environment for a mystery of this type!
This would be a PERFECT book for a ski weekend or really any winter weekend in the snow.
I read Shari Lapena’s book The Couple Next Door and wasn’t completely thrilled with it (gave it 3/5 stars). I thought I would give Lapena another try, and I’m so glad I did! I loved this one!!
