Summary:
In 2017, Tallulah and her boyfriend head out for a date while her mom watches their baby. Tallulah is a young mom, and she is in an awkward spot between being a college student and a new mom. Her mother, Kim, is not ready to be a grandma, but when Tallulah doesn’t return from her date, Kim has to take on the responsibility of caring for the baby.
Now in 2019, Sophie has just moved near the place Tallulah was last seen. It is referred to as “Dark Place.” Sophie becomes obsessed with the case of the missing young mom and befriends the exhausted Kim who is still convinced her daughter is out there somewhere.
My Thoughts:
Lisa Jewell does it again with an obsessive thriller that has twists and turns that keep you wanting to find out where Tallulah is!
I’ve loved every one of Lisa Jewel’s books, and this is another great thriller.
I love the shift from past to present and the shift in the perspective of the narrators as the reader waits to find out what happened to Tallulah that night she disappeared.
I highly recommend this book! It was one of the best thrillers of 2021!
