Recently we traveled through the windy roads of the Allegheny National Forest, just across the border of New York to Olean, New York for a gymnastics meet.
There were 3 moms and 5 daughters in one Toyota Sequoia that another mom drove. It was a fun trip with lots of giggles from the girls!
We stayed at the brand new Holiday Inn Express in Olean, NY. There aren’t a lot of choices for hotels in Olean, but the Holiday Inn Express was clean with a nice pool and a hot breakfast.
Our daughter had an excellent meet and was solid on all 4 events. It was a competitive meet with teams from western PA and southwestern NY.
When the awards started, I knew she was going to be in competition for first place all around. She scored 9.0 or above on all events.
She scored fifth place on vault, first place on bars, third on beam, and fifth on floor and once the all around awards started, I knew it would be close.
Her all around score was 36.25. When they announced 2nd place as 36.2, all of the moms cheered from our team! First place all around and a beautiful plaque!!
