Book review: Mine by Courtney Cole

Summary:

During a fierce Florida hurricane, Tessa opens her husband’s iPad to find inappropriate photos of a much younger woman. Her husband, Ethan, is stuck in another city due to the hurricane. Tessa wonders what to do and lures the younger woman, Lindsey, over to their house in the midst of the hurricane. They are left alone in the house in the middle of a hurricane. What happens next is a crazy battle between the two women in the midst of this horrific storm.

My Thoughts:

This is a wild story of revenge. After reading the reviews on Goodreads, I found this personal reflection from the author:

This book reads as a dramatic Lifetime movie, if you are interested in watching those types of movies and the type of drama they endure. It isn’t a book for everyone, and it seemed to be a bit of a way for the author to work through the issues she experienced. It is a very quick read, but it won’t be a favorite for everyone. I definitely feel empathy for the author and that she had to experience an unfaithful husband. I’m sure what the wife makes the mistress endure is what any wife who was scorned would want to do to the mistress. I admire Courtney Cole for having the courage to put her feelings out there in a published story.
