Summary:
Jason Bennett is a court reporter who is your typical suburban dad with one girl and one boy…..until his life changes in the blink of an eye.
After his daughter’s lacrosse game, their family is stopped in an apparent car jacking which ends in tragedy.
Quickly they are visited by the FBI where they are forced into the witness protection program. Maybe the Bennetts were not as perfect as it seems? Secrets unravel as Jason tries to make sense of what happened.
My Thoughts:
I was back and forth about this book. It kept my attention, and I couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what happened. (Although one of my biggest worries throughout was that their dog would end up okay!)
Once Jason started investigating himself, my interest weakened due to a lot of repetition in the book.
I did like the ending of the book and the first half more than the second.
I would give this a 3.5/5 stars.
