Can you believe that it’s already July??! Summer is flying by! I have been chipping away at my summer reading bucket list, but I have had many friends asking me for summer reading recommendations!
So here we go!!
Part 1: 🩷Romance/chick lit/domestic drama books🩷
🩷Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand: The wealthy Richardsons move to Nantucket and on the day that the chief of police retires their mansion catches on fire and their personal assistant goes missing……last Nantucket book for the queen of summer reading!
🩷The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins: Reminiscent of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Camden McTavish is the heir of a wealthy family in North Carolina, but he has been estranged. His wife, Jules, encourages him to reconnect.
🩷The Paris Widow by Kimberly Belle: Stella and Adam are traveling abroad and when Adam goes back to get a pair of sunglasses he left, there is an explosion which leaves Adam missing. Now Stella must encounter a web of lies and mysteries to find out what happened to Adam.
🩷This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune: Lucy and Felix have an undeniable chemistry, but the only catch is that he’s her best friend’s brother (and the only rule was she didn’t date her brother!)
🩷The Vacation House by Jane Schemilt: Two stories cross-one in Paxos, Greece in 2003 and one today in England-pretty heavy and disturbing content regarding abuse but really well written novel that is well done.
🩷The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine: First of all, you MUST read the prequel, The First Shot and The Next Mrs. Parrish, to understand this one. This is a fun and easy read wrapping up the whole Amber and Daphne battle!
Part 2: ☀️ Thrillers☀️
☀️First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston:
so unlike any other thriller you will read! Twists and turns galore about a girl who is not who she says she is working on a “job” by a mysterious boss and she ends up falling for her target!
☀️Only If You’re Lucky by Stacey Willingham: I will recommend this book a million times over! College setting with a murder in the fraternity next door-but totally not what you expect!
☀️If Something Happens to Me by Alex Finlay: Five years ago, Ryan’s girlfriend, Ali, was kidnapped from his car their senior year. Ryan was never charged, and there was never any proof of his involvement. Five years later after changing his name and studying abroad, he is wrapped up again in this mystery.
☀️The Woman on the Ledge by Ruth Mancini: Tate is arrested for the murder of a woman who fell from a building, but Tate insists she met the woman the night before at the ledge but they left together. What’s the truth? Multiple perspectives will blow your mind!!
☀️Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera: Lucy is found covered in her best friend’s blood years ago but she was never found guilty. Now a podcaster has opened up this case again.
☀️Middle of the Night by Riley Sager: Ethan’s best friend was taken from the tent they were sleeping in thirty years ago. Ethan returned to his childhood home and begins investigating what happened that night.
☀️She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica: Meghan is a single mom a teenager who is an ICU nurse and becomes attached to a girl who is thought that she tried to commit suicide. Twists and turns galore as usual for Kubica!
☀️The Resort by Sara Ochs:
Cass is a dive instructor at the “party island” at the Koh Sang Resort in Thailand. The expats bond together like a family until a dive student is found dead and all isn’t what it seems.
☀️Everyone Here is Lying by Shari Lapena: Typical Shari Lapena fashion of switching perspectives from character to character to allow the reader to have an omniscient view of what’s going on-Nine year old Avery is missing in a small town, but nobody is telling the full truth!
☀️None of this is True by Lisa Jewell: Alix is a famous podcaster who meets her birthday twin, Josie, at a restaurant on their birthdays. Alix strikes a friendship in hopes of having Josie on her podcast.
☀️Just Another Missing Person by Gillian McAllister: Julia is a detective investigating a missing person but is threatened to not find the truth by an outsider. Should she protect her family or find the truth?
☀️The Only One Left by Riley Sager: Kit is taking care of a wealthy elderly woman who was accused of murdering her family when she was a teen. She tells Kit one night that she didn’t do it!
☀️The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass: Cass lives and is basically the property manager of a pretty shabby hotel/long term residence. Anna moves there to find out more about her husband’s death-these strong women characters try to figure out some of the mysteries at the residences!
☀️A Talent for Murder by Peter Swanson: The third book from the Henry Kimball/Lily Kintner books does not disappoint! Another twisted mystery Lily has become wrapped up in, and she needs help from her longtime friend Henry.
