Anniversary Trip to Omni Bedford Springs Resort
|View from our balcony
This July was our 15 year anniversary. We decided to stay at Omni Bedford Springs resort for two days without the kids to enjoy some peace and quiet time in the mountains. We had visited Bedford Springs last summer and really liked it.
The Stone Inn was originally built in 1806. The rest of the resort was built throughout the 1800s and 1900s. In 1905, the indoor pool was opened, and it was one of the first indoor pools ever built in America. In 1984, it was declared a National Historic Landmark. Soon after, the resort closed. Omni bought the resort in 2007 and put $120 million dollars into the resort to restore it.
The robe provided is so comfortable after a relaxing shower
We were in a Luxury Spa room that had a balcony overlooking the mountains and the resort. The room had a whirlpool tub as well as a shower. The mattress and pillows were the epitome of comfort! (It could have been the fact that our 7 year old wasn’t climbing in between us in the middle of the night, but I will give Omni the credit)

We spent both afternoons at the outdoor pool. They have a variety of sandwiches, appetizers, and many drinks to choose from. The Raspberry Daiquiri was very good as well as the Peach Bellini. My husband had a burger, which he said was amazing. I enjoyed the Portobello Mushroom sandwich. We both got Sweet Potato Fries as our side. Towels are provided, and a waiter or waitress will give you assistance right at your lounge chair delivering your food and drinks.
The beautiful indoor pool reminds me a lot of one of my favorite novels, The Great Gatsby. I can just picture Jay Gatsby on a raft in this pool!

Fire pit and Outdoor Seating for Frontier Tavern
Our dinner was at the Frontier Tavern at one of the outside tables. Last year we ate at the 1796 Room, and it was a great meal. We decided to go to one of the other restaurants this year for a change, plus the weather was nice and warm. My husband had the Seafood Cobb salad and I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Both were very good.
Later in the evening, a crowd begins to gather around the fire pit, and the hotel will provide ingredients for smores.
The next morning we took a hike. You could choose Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced for the path you take. We took some of the beginner and intermediate trails and hiked close to 3 miles. We got to see some beautiful views and hiked to the Miller’s House which was built in 1800.

This was our second trip to Bedford Springs, and we would return again. The food and service is wonderful. It is such a quiet area with not a lot of noise from the normal car traffic and everyday background noise. Bedford Springs is a great place to relax and unwind, especially with good weather on a sunny summer day.
