Book review: Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I received this free ARC from the publisher, Ballantine Books in exchange for an unbiased review……..which is a review I would give 10 stars out of 5 stars if I could. This book is fantastic!!!

I didn’t want this book to end! What a brilliant novel written mostly as the band is being interviewed and recanting their experiences over the years. This entirely fictional band is so believable as Reid just entwines the reader into the lives and experiences of the band members.

The Six is a band that started in the 70s and eventually the whimsical and talented Daisy Jones joins them. The details and characterization is phenomenal, just like how Reid created the persona of Evelyn Hugo, she also creates the whole world of the band members and their albums and concerts. It is hard to believe that Daisy Jones and the Six never even existed as a band! The ending even includes the songs and lyrics to the song meanings the reader ends up falling in love with. The world of rock and roll in the 70s with the sex, drugs, rock and roll, and turmoil is portrayed in such a realistic fashion.

I highly recommend you go out and buy this book when it is released in March of 2019. Reese Witherspoon already agreed to produce this as a series on Amazon after she read the book this summer. This is going to be a best-seller!
