Book review: This is How I Lied by Heather Gudenkauf

Summary:

Eve Knox was found 25 years ago by her sister and her best friend in a cave in the small town of Grotto. Maggie, Eve’s best friend, and her sister, Nola, have been haunted their entire lives by this discovery. There was never enough evidence to arrest any suspects.

Eve is now a detective at the Grotto police, following in the steps of her father. Maggie is seven months pregnant when a key piece of evidence is turned up in the caves. This evidence opens up the case again.

My Thoughts:

This book was really well done. There were some suspects I had really thought killed Eve, and I really went back and forth on who was her actual murderer.

The novel switches between Eve, Nola, and Maggie’s perspectives and also from past to present.

I enjoyed another one of Gudenkauf’s novels. She has written yet another solid suspenseful thriller!
