April Book recap

April 2026 Book Recap

Five books and a short “choose your own adventure” from Freda McFadden for April. I feel like in 2026 I’m handing out five stars like Halloween candy!

My two five stars for April couldn’t be any more different. My genre of choice is usually thrillers, but I saw raving reviews about a romance called Into the Blue.  Once I started this one, I couldn’t stop! I read this in a little over two days. I absolutely fell in love with the characters!

My other five star read was This Story Might Save Your Life.  Such a fun read that kept me guessing and guessing on what was happening. Twists and turns with a love story thrown in!

⭐️ 5 stars⭐️

Into the Blue by Emma Brodie-5+ stars!! I absolutely loved this book. I was entranced by the romance of AJ and Noah the whole book! (It does get a little spicy towards the end of the book)

This Story Might Save Your Life by Tiffany Crum-so different and captivating! I listened to this one on Audible and it was so well done!

⭐️4 stars⭐️

Pretty Dead Things by Kelsey Cox (ARC)-release day July 7, 2026-murder at a Texas beauty pageant! Dual timelines connect the beauty pageant now and a missing girl at a beauty pageant 25 years ago.

⭐️3 stars⭐️

Our Beautiful Mess by Adele Parks-Connie’s family is going through it! Lies, drugs, pregnancy, all in a perfectly looking family. Not my favorite Adele Parks book-it was okay

The Dinner Party by Freda McFadden-Choose Your Own Adventure by Freda basically. It’s amusing, funny, and can keep you busy if you can’t fall asleep at 2am!

⭐️2 stars⭐️

Served Him Right by Lisa Unger-lots of witchcraft and repeated themes and sentences over and over and over again-I usually love her books but not this one
