The Last Time I Lied was my favorite thriller of 2018! It had an amazing storyline that sucked me into reading into the late hours of the night while my whole family was sound asleep. Along with the captivating storyline, it had such suspense that kept me on edge the entire book! The cherry on top of it all………….an amazing twisted ending that I NEVER saw coming!!
Summary:
Fifteen years ago, Emma was a camper at Camp Nightingale in a cabin with Vivian, Allison, and Natalie. Emma was the youngest of the group. The girls would often play “Two Truths and a Lie.” One night, Emma woke up to an empty cabin, and the girls were never seen again.
Today, Emma is an artist in the New York art scene in which she basically paints as therapy to get through the tragic situation that still haunts her from Camp Nightingale. Franny Harris-White shows up at one of Emma’s shows and propositions Emma to come back to Camp Nightingale as a painting instructor for the summer.
Emma agrees to go back, but Emma wants to try to research on her own what happened to her three roommates. Emma is put back in the same cabin where the girls were last seen. Emma is also faced with seeing many familiar faces from the summer 15 years ago. Emma sifts through cryptic clues and seems to be getting closer to the truth……..or is she?
The ending of this book is so fantastic! I never saw it coming, and it took me by complete surprise!
