Book review: The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

Summary:

Casey Fletcher is a recent widow and actress who is featured in the tabloids often for every problem that she’s experienced. Casey decides to head to their lakeside retreat to get away from the paparazzi.

Across the lake, Katherine and Tom live in the beautiful glass home. The couple is just as beautiful as their home. Casey and Katherine meet on the lake by chance and hit it off.

The closer they get, the more that Casey thinks that there are problems between Katherine and Tom. When Katherine vanishes with no contact, Casey decides to do some investigating of her own.

My Thoughts:

This book wasn’t for me. I mean I usually love a good lakeside thriller based on the amount of time we spend at Deep Creek Lake, but I just couldn’t get into the supernatural aspects the second half of the book.

I loved the first half of the book, but then it took an odd turn for me.

I gave this a 2 out of 5 stars.
